Gyaku
Meaning: (\u9006, reverse) — locks that bend a joint against its natural direction, as in omote gyaku (front reverse) and ura gyaku (back reverse).
How it is applied: Applied to control with minimal force: the wrist and arm are moved past their natural range and the attacker follows or is controlled. Trained with full awareness of effect, never as brute force.
